Betsson Poker Grows 39 Percent In 2012

Poker Revenue Up At Swedish Online Gaming Operator

Poker revenue jumped 39 percent at Betsson plc in full year 2012 to SEK116.7Million (€13.6 million) from SEK83.9 million (€9.8 million) in 2011.

Gross poker profit during the fourth quarter of 2012 jumped 27 percent to SEK31.6 million (€3.7 million) from SEK24.8 million (€2.9 million) in the fourth quarter of 2011.

Poker, which is hosted by the Ongame network, made up 6.3 percent of gross profit in 2012 compared to 5.9 percent in 2011.

Overall the company, which operates sportsbook bingo, games and casino, saw revenues increased by 27 percent to SEK2,203.7 million (€256.4 million) in 2012 from SEK1,736,6 million (€202 million) a year earlier.

Magnus Silfverberg, president and chief executive officer of Betsson, said, “The strong organic growth of 23 percent in revenues, 30 percent in Sportsbook turnover and more than 100 percent in mobile revenues from last quarter, shows that Betsson is on the right track. Betsson’s growth is built on historical investments, and the company continues to invest large amounts in marketing and technology, which intends to secure a future growth rate above that of the market growth.”
