Dan ShakThe latest edition of Card Player Magazine is now available online and features Dan Shak, a semi-retired trader who has found success on the tournament circuit.

Shak has down particularly well in high-roller events, playing against some of the best players in the world for huge six-figure buy-ins.

“Back then, and today I guess, most poker shows are heavily edited," Shak said. "So you really don’t…they show the bust out hands. You really don’t see the skills of real poker unless you actually play. I don’t think you can really get it from watching the World Series of Poker on TV. Now at the final table they will show every hand, so in the last couple years things have changed a little bit. But back when I started playing, unless you sat down and paid the price to play with the best players you didn’t learn. There was no online poker at the time.”

Other features in this issue include player interviews with Dan Buzgon, Christina Lindley and Melanie Weisner as well as strategy columns from the likes of Roy Cooke, Ed Miller, Gavin Griffin, Andrew Brokos, Bryan Devonshire, Bob Ciaffone and Steve Zolotow. You can also read columns from personalities such as Bart Hanson, Linda Johnson, John Vorhaus and Alan Schoonmaker.

The magazine, as well as an archive of more than 500 issues, is available to be viewed in rich media flash versions or mobile-friendly HTML formats. All you need to view each issue is a digital subscription.
