Danny Tang Wins Triton Poker Ivan Leow Player of the Year AwardHong Kong Resident Cashes For More Than $10.1 Million Across 19 In-The-Money Finishes During Season 3 |

Danny Tang has won Triton Poker’s Season 3 Ivan Leow Player of the Year race, finishing with 3,700 points. The 32-year-old Hong Kong resident cashed 19 times across the four Triton Poker Super High Roller Series festivals that comprised the season, accumulating over $10.1 million in prize money across those scores. Tang’s qualified cashes included 13 final-table finishes and two title runs.
Tang’s wins during season 3 saw him take down a $60,000 eight-max event in London for $1.6 million and a $50,000 eight-max event in Monte Carlo for another $1,580,000. Those accounted for two of his four qualified seven-figure scores.
Tang is now a five-time Triton title winner, putting him in a three-way tie for second on the tour’s titles leaderboard with Mikita Badziakouski and Phil Ivey. Jason Koon, who won the POY honors in season 2, remains alone atop that list with 10 Triton wins.
For the win, Tang was awarded $200,000 and a brand new trophy, which was designed and handmade by London silversmiths Fox Silver. This POY race is named in honor of the late Ivan Leow, who sadly passed away in the fall of 2022. Leow was reportedly instrumental in Triton getting off the ground as a founding member of the tour alongside Richard Yong and Paul Phua.
“Ivan was a tremendous poker player and an even better friend to everyone at Triton,” said Phua at Tang’s trophy ceremony. “Not a day goes by when we don’t think about him, and it was important for us to be able to remember him with such a prestigious award.”
“I have to give it to Ivan looking down on us and giving me his blessing. It means a lot because I am one of his own guys,” said Tang after receiving the trophy. “For me this is the most prestigious award that can be won in poker right now.”
