The World Poker Tour continues to attract commercial sponsors as the company announced that it has renewed its multi-year advertising deal with beer powerhouse Budweiser. In addition to signing the brewing behemoth for season five, the company also announced the signing of two new sponsors, XYIENCE, an active lifestyle brand, and Blue Diamond Growers, the world's largest tree nut processing and marketing company.
Anheuser-Busch, which first began its promotional relationship with the WPT with its World Lager, now promotes its flagship brand Budweiser on the show and will continue to be the drink of choice as the show's host's "raise their glasses" to toast the tournament's winner.
According to the director of Budweiser marketing, Randall Blackford, the WPT continues to be a successful venue for the company's top selling product.
"Budweiser is a classic American beer meant to be shared with great friends over a game of poker. The World Poker Tour continues to deliver the best poker tournaments and poker programming on television, and we are pleased to be back in action for season five," he said in a recent press release.
XYIENCE's multi-year deal extends to season six and will focus on the company's wide array of lifestyle- and nutrition-focused products, like its energy drink, Xenergy. Set to become the "official energy drink of the WPT," the sugar-free, zero-calorie energy drink comes in Cran/Razz, Clear, and Big Apple flavors.
Blue Diamond will be sponsoring the WPT Championship at Bellagio, featuring its Almond brand. The company will also be running a cross-promotional campaign for its "BOLD" almond line with the WPT and will give away a seat to play in the season six WPT Championship.
According to Blue Diamond Almonds director of marketing, the WPT Championship is a great opportunity for the company.
"We are thrilled to be a part of the prestigious WPT Championship and for our consumers the opportunity to play in the WPT Ivnitational."
