Tom SchneiderIn 2007, Tom Schneider was on top of the poker world, winning two bracelets and being named World Series of Poker Player of the Year. He followed that up with a few final table appearances over the next few year, but ultimately kept falling short of another victory.

On Sunday, however, Schneider once again found himself in the winner’s circle after taking down event no. 15, the $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. event. Schneider earned his third gold bracelet and the $258,960 first-place prize after topping a field of 862.

The 53-year-old from Arizona was ecstatic to have won another bracelet after so many close calls.

“I’ve been cashing a lot in events,” Schneider said. “Last year, I cashed in six events, but I seemed to be missing out on going deep and making a final table. It had been a while. It’s nice to know I can still play. There are a lot of good players now. The events are tougher than they’ve ever been. It’s just nice to get some validation that I can still play with these younger kids.”

Schneider, who is also an author and country music songwriter, has made 7 final table appearances at the WSOP. He now has $1.95 million in career tournament earnings.

Other notables at the final table included Eddie Blumenthal, Scott Bohlman, Frankie O’Dell, Rep Porter and eventual runner-up finisher Owais Ahmed.

Here’s a look at the final table results.
