Danny FuhsEvent no. 25, the $5,000 Omaha eight-or-better tournament at the 2013 World Series of Poker, drew a field of 241 players and created a total prize pool of $1,132,700.

After three days of action, it was longtime poker veteran Danny Fuhs who earned the title and the $277,519 first-place prize. Fuhs, who has been attending the WSOP each year since 2003, had 15 prior cashes before finally securing his first career bracelet.

The 41-year-old from Long Beach, California started playing poker while attending New Mexico State University and continued to grind out a living in the side games before switching to tournaments.

“It’s every poker player’s dream,” Fuhs said. “They are coming from all over the place to play. And now, the fields are bigger and tougher. At my age, it’s tougher. Some of them might think we don’t have a chance, but some of us older players have won bracelets this year, too. So, it’s good. It’s some pride for the old school.”

Fuhs topped a stacked final table that included notables such as Robert Mizrachi, Brian Hastings, Viacheslav Zhukov, Ryan Lenaghan, Jeffrey Lisandro and Card Player columnist Bart Hanson.

Here is a look at the final table results.
