In terms of money won from gamblers, Horseshoe Casino Cleveland just had its worst month since opening in May 2012. August gaming revenue was $18,912,221, according to a Monday report from the Ohio Casino Control Commission.
As the Cleveland Plain Dealer pointed out, Horseshoe Casino Cleveland had been the state’s most profitable casino, but that distinction now belongs to Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati, at least for now. That casino collected $19,194,352 in August.
The revenue plunge for Cleveland’s only full-fledged casino comes despite strong participation in table games. Slot revenue has been not as strong as desired.
Overall gaming revenue for the state’s four Las Vegas-style casinos in 2013 was $548,875,887 through August. That figure reportedly is lower than analysts had expected.
