Mohegan Sun Casino to Expand

Connecticut Resort Will Nearly Double in Size

Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut, is about to double up.

Already one of the world's largest casinos, the resort has announced it will undergo a major expansion that will increase the size of the place by nearly twice.

The casino already has 1,200 hotel rooms, more than 300,000 square feet of casino space and more than 6,000 slot machines. A spokesman for the casino confirmed that all the details about the expansion will be released Thursday.

The casino turned 10 years old this year and features all the amenities found in a world-class resort, including more than 100,000 square feet of convention space, a 10,000 square-foot swimming pool, a 55-foot waterfall, and 130,000 square feet dedicated to shopping.
