On Sunday Nov. 19, at 9 a.m., retired FBI counterintelligence agent Joe Navarro will be at Caesars, Las Vegas, to host his popularJoe Navarro Decoding Poker Tells seminar. The eight-hour instructional course is dedicated to the study of nonverbal behaviors, and also demonstrates famous poker player tells. The cost is $999, and doors open at eight, but seats are limited to the first 100 registrants and only a few remain. Preregistration is recommended and closes at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Following the success of Joe Navarro's lectures at Camp Hellmuth, a training excursion hosted by 10-time World Series of Poker champion Phil Hellmuth, the 25-year FBI veteran expanded his instructional tour. Today, Navarro's eight-hour comprehensive seminar offers the most advanced and proven methods for recognizing and decoding poker tells. The intense training is considered similar to what federal agents receive in the field, covering nonverbal behavior and the theory of personal tells. Students will have an opportunity to practice, validate, and later play live poker to apply the techniques learned. Each student will also be individually evaluated to identify his or her own tells.

Seminar attendees will receive Joe Navarro's new book written in cooperation with Phil Hellmuth.

Seminar topics include:

  • How to effectively pick up tells in a tournament environment
  • Exercises to enhance observation and decoding skills
  • Controlling your emotions and reactions at the table
  • How to effectively conceal tells
  • Effective bluffing using powerful cues
  • Identifying the most reliable tells
  • What to do with the "unreadable player"
  • Examination of common and uncommon tells
