The Horseshoe Hammond Casino in Hammond, Indiana (a short drive from Chicago) has been one of the most popular stops on the World Series of Poker Circuit in recent years, consistently drawing huge fields. The $1,675 WSOP Circuit main event this time around featured a $2 million guaranteed prize pool, which stoked the fire even more. A record-setting 1,717 entries were made in this event, making it the largest turnout in the Circuit’s history. As a result the prize pool ballooned to over $2.5 million, blowing away the guarantee.

Over four days the record field was narrowed down until just one player remained: James Dorrance. For the win the 27-year-old earned his first gold ring, the $418,526 first-place prize and 1,080 Card Player Player of the Year points.

Kevin Eyster “I like to compete and it was a fun final table,” said Dorrance after his win. “There were a lot of creative and smart players.”

Joining Dorrance at the final table was 2013 Player of the Year contender Kevin Eyster. This was Eyster’s fourth final table finish of the year, with a prior runner-up finish in a WSOP Circuit main event at The Lodge Casino in Colorado, a win in the World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Showdown $5,000 main event for $660,395 and a seventh in a Heartland Poker Tour main event. Eyster finished sixth in this event for $87,103 and 360 POY points, which catapulted him into ninth place in the overall POY standings with 2,868 points and $864,713 in year-to-date earnings.

Here is a look at the complete payouts and POY points awarded at this final table:
