Ludovic Lacay, one of France’s all-time great poker players, has decided to end his sponsorship with Winamax and move on from poker, he wrote in a blog post.
“I have played poker for nine years, and I travel from one tournament to the other, from a country to the other for eight years,” Lacay wrote. “It’s time for me to turn the page and do something else.”
The 29-year-old added: “I want to thank Winamax for the decision to hire a law student that nobody knew and who didn’t know anyone back in 2007. They have helped him to grow and they have made him live some incredible experiences.”
Lacay, who hails from Cornebarrieu, won nearly $3.2 million playing poker tournaments. His largest score was a win in the 2012 EPT San Remo main event.
He also finished 16th in the 2009 World Series of Poker main event.
