Poker Pro Xuan Liu And 888 Part WaysEndorsement Deal For Canadian Is No More |

Canadian poker pro Xuan Liu and Gibraltar-based online poker site 888 are no longer working together, Liu said on Twitter last week. The news comes not long after another top female poker pro, former PokerStars Team Pro Vanessa Rousso, also saw her sponsorship deal end.
Very grateful to have been given the opportunity for a year but will no longer be an @888poker ambassador.

888 Poker, which has an online product in New Jersey and a partnership with the WSOP, also recently cut ties with former professional cricket star Shane Warne. According to the online poker site’s web page, Jackie Glazier, Nicolau Villa Lobos, Bruno Kawauti, Bruno Foster Politano and Sofia Lövgren are the remaining sponsored players for the firm. None are from North America.
Liu has more than $1.3 million in lifetime tournament scores. Her largest came at the 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure main event, in which she finished fourth for $600,000.
In 2013, she scored for around $28,000, and in 2014 she cashed for about $44,000. A quieter last couple of years is something Liu and Rousso have in common.
It’s not just female poker pros or those who haven’t had big results lately who have lost their deals. The industry is losing a good chunk of its sponsored players. Even poker pro Joe Cada, who won a bracelet this past summer, saw his deal with PokerStars end.
