On Thursday night, former poker pro Alex Jacob upped his winning streak on the TV game show Jeopardy to five while also increasing his earnings to a total of $129,401.
The Chicago currency trader breezed past his competition and for the fourth time in five appearances, he did not have to sweat the Final Jeopardy question. Jacob does this by amassing huge leads by hunting for Daily Doubles and betting big once he finds them.
On Thursday, Jacob had built a lead with $4,600 over his two opponents who had $2,400 and $800 respectively. He once again told Alex Trebek, “let’s bet it all,” and got a difficult question which he appeared to struggle with. At the last moment it appeared like he offered up an educated guess, which was actually correct, causing at least one person in the audience to audibly gasp.
Check out the latest episode of Jeopardy below and tune in to watch Jacob defend his title Friday night.
