Lots of Love at Caesars V-Day Poker TourneyMore Than 80 Couples Turned Out for the Event |
|
Whether they are lovers or friends, couples trust one another to be loyal, faithful, and honest. On Sunday, couples were put to the ultimate test, at least in the world of poker. They had to trust one another not to bust out of a no-limit hold'em poker tournament.
Brandon Cantu, 2006 World Series of Poker $1,500 no-limit hold'em bracelet winner and his partner, Alexia Standard, won the $225 buy-in Valentines Couples Partner Tournament on Sunday at Caesars Palace.
The tournament turned out 86 teams. Each team shared a seat and one chip stack. Blind levels went up every 40 minutes and partners switched every 20 minutes.
The total prize pool was $16,345 and Cantu and Standard went on to split the first place prize of $6,197. Standard dedicated the win to the memory of her late father, who passed away in a roadside accident last week.
