Although many steps are being taken away for the right to play poker, the community is not going down without a fight. Former U.S. Sen. Alfonse D'Amato was recently appointed chairman of the Poker Players Alliance and in support, PokerStars is running three $5,000 freerolls a night.

Players who live in the United States and not already members of the PPA are welcome to enter one freeroll. The tournaments run daily at 8:05 p.m., 9:55 p.m., and 11:05 p.m. ET. They are located under the "special" tab under the tournament listing.

By entering the freeroll, players are allowing PokerStars to pass along personal information to the PPA in order to become an introductory member. Players will have the opportunity to join the fight for keeping poker legal.
