A Fish Wins Heartland Poker Tour Event in IowaIowa Events Breaks HPT Record |

Jason Fish may have the last name of someone who is known to be a bad poker player, but he proved that he was anything but a fish when he won the Heartland Poker Tour's event at the Meskwaki Bingo Casino/Hotel in Tama, Iowa Sunday.
Fish, of Cedar Rapid, Iowa, won the $1,650 buy-in event and its prize of $82,545. He outlasted 206 players that generated a prize pool of $297,804, which was a record for the HPT. Fish also won his way into the HPT's Tournament of Champions that will take place in Las Vegas at the end of this year.

The next HPT event is taking place now through March 24, at Majestic Star Casino in Gary, Indiana. Qualifiers that start at $65 are now running for the main event.
