CardPlayer.com is launching a new blog section with frequent European Poker Tour updates from its Grand Final event that's taking place this week.

The blog can be found on the "blog" tab next to poker headlines or under the Poker News section. The EPT Grand Final tournament boasted the largest field in EPT history with 706 players putting up the €10,000 buy-in, creating a €6,636,400 prize pool ($8.8 million).

Today is the third day of the event, but the first day the entire field plays together (so many people entered, groups of players were split into separate starting groups on the first two days). Chad Brown came into the day as chip leader, with players such as Greg Raymer, Isabelle Mercier, and Barry Greenstein still in the tournament. Because of the large turnout, an extra day of play has been added on. The final day will be April 2.

The winner of this year's Grand Final will receive more than €1.8 million (more than $2.4 million). It was 19-year-old Jeff Williams who took down the €900,000 ($1.1 million) prize for first place last year. He qualified through PokerStars satellites.
