|
A total of 49 players showed up to the Aria Resort & Casino and posted the $300,000 buy-in for the 2016 Super High Roller Bowl, building a prize pool of $15 million in the rake-free event.
After two full days of high-stakes poker action only 16 players remain in the hunt for the title and the first-place prize of $5,000,000. Day 3 will see play continue until a final table of eight, with only the top seven finishers making the money and a min-cash being worth $600,000.
The runaway chip leader heading into day 3 is Matt Berkey with 2,816,000 of the 14.7 million chips in play. Berkey has over $1.7 million in lifetime live tournament earnings and is in great shape to add to that total in this event.
Other notables who survived the day with big stacks include eight-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Erik Seidel (1,299,000), 2010 Aussie Millions $100,000 high roller champion Dan Shak (1,243,000) and three-time WSOP bracelet winner Jason Mercier (1,208,000).
Plenty of big names hit the rail on day 2 including defending champion Brian Rast, Poker Hall of Famer Bobby Baldwin, $1 million buy-in Big One For One Drop champion Dan Colman and two-time Card Player Player of the Year winner Daniel Negreanu.
The 16 players who made it through to day 3 will return at 1 PM local time. Live coverage of the event will be available on Poker Central’s Twitch channel from 2 PM to 5 PM, with coverage then switching over to CBS Sports Network from 5 PM to midnight.
