In June, Maryland’s five casinos won $93.3 million from gamblers, which was the seventh straight month of year-over-year gaming win increases, according to figures released this week by state gaming regulators. The revenue in June was an increase of just over two percent compared to June 2015.
The casinos set a monthly record of $104.4 million in May. The industry will get a big boost later this year when a $1.3 billion casino from MGM opens at National Harbor.
Of the $93.3 million, $59.4 million came from slot machines, while the rest was from table games. Revenue from non-banked games (poker) was $2.48 million, which was less than May’s $2.9 million. Poker revenue from this past June was also less than June 2015’s $2.8 million.
Below is a breakdown by casino of poker revenue in June:
Hollywood Casino Perryville: $93,300
Maryland Live: $1.7 million
Horseshoe Baltimore: $673,000
So far in 2016, Maryland poker rooms have raked $17.45 million.
Maryland Live and Horseshoe Baltimore have 52 and 25 poker tables, respectively. Hollywood’s poker room has eight tables.
Maryland Live generated $53.7 million of June’s gaming win. MGM National Harbor is expected to challenge it for the top grossing casino in the state.
