Mario Lampropulos has won the 2017 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS main event at the Dusk Till Dawn Casino Nottingham. She outlasted a massive field in this unique tournament that had 564 direct entries for £5,300 and over 6,500 players who made their way into the event via live and online ‘Phase 1’ entries at £550. In the end the total turnout for the tournament exceeded the £6 million guarantee to build a final prize pool of £6,017,395. The first place prize was guaranteed to be £1,000,000 and that is exactly what Lampropulos earned after emerging victorious.
“It really feels like a magic moment I’m in right now. I’m a little tired after such a difficult final table, but tomorrow I’ll realize what I did,” said Lampropulos.
The Argentinian, who was cheered on by boyfriend and fellow poker pro Ivan Luca, had a tough final table to deal with including the likes of Stephen Chidwick, an accomplished pro with more than $7.3 million in lifetime live tournament earnings.
In the end it came down to a heads-up battle between Lampropulos and the UK’s Jacob Mulhern. Lampropulos began with a 6-to-5 chip lead over the beer-keg delivery man from Doncaster.
