The $5,000 pot-limit Omaha rebuy event at the 2007 World Series of Poker made its debut today and received an overwhelming response. The star-studded field and swollen prize pool quickly caught the attention of ESPN. A few minutes after the rebuy period, it was announced over the speakers in the Rio convention room that the event has been added to the televised event line up.

An estimated 145 players entered the event. The fans got a treat as they were able to observe the biggest names in poker. John D'Agostino, Daniel Negreanu, Andrew Black, Greg Raymer, Toto Leonidas, Ted Lawson, and Eric Lindgren were all at one table.

The players began with $10,000 in chips and could rebuy when they were at or below that starting amount within the first three hours.
