Nevada casino poker rooms generated a combined $9 million in revenue during January, according to figures released Wednesday by the Gaming Control Board.
The rake was virtually unchanged year-over-year. Nevada had 63 poker rooms with a combined 568 tables in January. Over the 12 months prior to the start of February 2018, Nevada’s poker rooms generated $118.4 million in rake, up a percentage point compared to the same period the year prior.
Strip area poker rooms accounted for $5.6 million of the revenue in January, down about two percent year-over-year. The Strip has 18 poker rooms.
The best January ever for the Silver State poker market was the $13.8 million raked during that month in 2007. That year was the height of the poker boom.
Combined with revenue from the other games, Nevada casinos won just over $1 billion from gamblers during January, down two percent compared to January 2017.
