Louisiana Bill Would Bar Casinos From Kicking Out Gamblers Due To Their 'Skill Level'Lawmaker Wants To Reign In Casino Ejections |

Legislation on the table in Louisiana would make it harder to get booted from a casino.
A proposed law change advanced past a committee vote last Thursday. The legislation, House Bill 152, would make it so casinos can’t exclude someone “for reasons based solely on the skill level of the person.”
Under current law, a gambler can be kicked out for any reason, except on the basis of race, color, creed, nationality, sex or disability. Louisiana casinos obviously can still eject you for cheating or any unlawful or “disruptive” behavior.
The legislation is sponsored by Representative Walt Leger, who introduced it in February. Leger, a Democrat, represents a district that includes New Orleans.
“I just don’t want [casinos] to have such wide latitude to exclude people based on their winnings,” he told Nola.com. Leger was not immediately available when contacted by Card Player.
Leger’s bill would seem to indicate that card counting at blackjack, a famous way of trying to obtain an edge against the house, would not be grounds for getting kicked out.
