Poker players have a lot to be excited about this fall with the return of a $1,100 buy-in Mid-States Poker Tour main event at the FireKeepers Casino Hotel in Battle Creek, Michigan.
In October, the casino will kick off the first day of the $300,000 guaranteed tournament. Satellites as low as $65 are currently underway for those who want to try to play for much less than the cost of a buy-in. The main event is scheduled to finish on Oct. 14.
The marquee event, which runs Oct. 11-14, will feature three starting days, with players starting with 15,000 in tournament chips. The levels are 40 minutes and the first blind level is 50-100. There’s an optional $10 add-on for an additional 5,000 in chips, giving poker players even more room to maneuver. The casino will allow a single re-entry for each starting flight up until the 12th level of play.
In May of this year, there were 1,287 players for the $1,100 MSPT main event, which created a prize of more than $1 million. The turnout was up from 1,066 players in May of 2017. Poker player Mark Brazis was the winner of the event this past spring for a whopping $221,000.
FireKeepers Casino Hotel, which is located just off of I-94 at exit 104, opened in August of 2009. The venue features an 111,700-square foot gaming floor with 2,900 slot machines, 70 table games, multiple restaurants and lounges, a live poker room and bingo room.
“Poker is a priority at FireKeepers Casino,” said Lance Allen, Vice President of Table Games at FireKeepers Casino Hotel. “Every day, our spacious 22-table, non-smoking poker room offers a great array of tournaments and an outstanding spread of games and limits.”
