WSOP 2007: Liz LieuLife Outside of the Series |
|
Card Player: How has the Series been for you so far?
Liz Lieu: It's been rather uneventful. I've played in six tournaments, made it deep in two of the six events. But no final tables. I'm playing very well overall. I was among one of the chip leaders in a couple of events but had some unlucky breaks and just made the money in both events. Maybe something big will happen in the main event and I will have a better story to tell you later.
CP: Have you played more or fewer events than you planned to play back on June 1?
LL: I initially planned on playing all the higher-buy-in no-limit and limit events at the start of the WSOP. But unfortunately I had other business demands that I had to attend to and also my father's health problem that needed my immediate attention. My family has always been more important than playing poker.
CP: What changes or improvements have you liked this year?
LL: The World Series seems to be more organized this year. They've improved the look and feel of the venue. The final table stage looks much improved. I haven't heard of any issues with chip counts or problems with the dealers. There were some problems that have been well documented from last year and Harrah's seems to have addressed those issues.
CP: What has not gone well this year or what needs to be changed for next year?
LL: The WSOP really needs to expand the poker kitchen. Literally every player that wanted to grab a bite to eat during their 15 minute break was always late getting back to their table. Just waiting for their food took 15 minutes, not to mention having to stand in the mile-long line to pay.
