Strong Euro Contingent Gets Down to Business on Day 2A at World Series of Poker Main Event

Dozens of hopeful poker players from across the Atlantic ocean knuckled down on the felt today at the Rio Casino, Las Vegas on Day 2A of the championship event of the 38th World Series of Poker.

Among the Euro participants were Patrik Antonius, Donnacha O'Dea, Eoghan O'Dea, Henning Granstad Ross Boatman, John Duthie, Lars Bonding, Vicky Coren, Bruno Fitoussi, Jan Sorensen, Keith Hawkins, Alex Kravchenko, Conor Tate, Christian Togsverd, Alan Smurfit, Marc Goodwin, John Magill, George McKeever, Neil Channing, Jac Arama, Steve Jelinik, Dave Barriclough, Willie Tann, and Julian Gardner.

Play ended just after midnight when the number of players stood at 350.

Among those making it through to day three on Thursday ,12 June, are John Duthie, Donnacha O'Dea, Conor Tate, Willie Tann, Alex Kravchenko, Jac Arama, Keith Hawkins, Neil Channing, Adam Noone, Bo Sehlstedt, and Dave Barriclough.

Duthie has approximately $270,000 in chips; O'Dea has about $40,000, having doubled up with K-9 at the end of the evening; Conor Tate has over $300,000; Jac Arama has around $354,000; and Alex Kravchenko has about $150,000.

Tomorrow sees day 2B, which will play down to the same number, leaving the participants just 79 spots from the money.
