The New York Gaming Commission on Thursday announced that it has approved its four platform providers and operators to kick off mobile sports gambling.

Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings, FanDuel, and Rush Street Interactive are said to have
satisfied all statutory and regulatory requirements necessary to accept and process
mobile sports wagering activity.

The apps can launch no earlier than Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at 9 a.m.

“After that effective date, each licensee (Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings, FanDuel,
and Rush Street Interactive) will determine when to accept wagers, based upon its
business capabilities and readiness,” the Commission said in a statement. “The remaining five conditionally licensed mobile sports wagering operators continue to
work towards satisfying statutory and regulatory requirements necessary to launch and
will be approved on a rolling basis when requirements are met.”

In-person sports wagering began in New York in 2013. In November, the NYGC decided on nine online sportsbooks for the state.

The Empire State is one of the largest online sports betting markets in the country.
