The 2022 Card Player Poker Tour bestbet Jacksonville series is now more than halfway completed, with nine of the 16 scheduled tournaments already in the books. More than $650,000 in prize money has already been awarded, with over 1,700 entries made in events 1-9. The second half of the festival should be even bigger than first, with plenty of huge tournaments left to play, including the $3,000 buy-in CPPT bestbet Jacksonville no-limit hold’em main event that kicks off on Friday, Nov. 11 and runs through Monday, Nov. 14. There are two starting flights offered for that event, each kicking off at noon on Friday and Saturday. Players will start with 40,000 in chips, with 60-minute blind levels to start.
We posted a look at the early winners from the series last week. Below is a recap of the two most recent events to have wrapped up.
Event no. 8, the $1,700 no-limit hold’em ‘Mystery Bounty’ event attracted a total of 238 entries, resulting in a main prize pool of $242,760 and another $119,000 allotted for mystery bounty payouts ranging from $500 up to $50,000.
The tournament featured three starting flights, each beginning at noon local time on Nov. 3-5. The 31 players who moved on to day 2 all had a shot at the mystery bounty prizes when the final day of play began on Nov. 6.
After a full day of poker and bounty drawing action, with featured table and bounty coverage on bestbetLIVE, it was ultimately Scott Risi who came away with the title and the top prize pool payout of $49,762.
This was by far the largest live tournament score on Risi’s resume, blowing away the $2,679 he earned as the 41st-place finisher in a WPTDeepStacks event at bestbet Jacksonville back in 2016.
While Risi secured the title, runner-up Chongyou Chen secured the most total prize money thanks to his three bounty payouts that totaled $82,000. With the $40,000 he secured as the runner-up after striking a heads-up deal with Risi, Chen’s overall haul grew to $122,000.
The final table featured a number of highly-accomplished tournament players, including four-time World Series of Poker final tablist Jeremy Joseph (9th), three-time World Poker Tour final tablist TK Miles (5th), and recent CPPT bestbet event no. 7 fourth-place finisher Trace Henderson (4th).
