Alexandra Botez is one of the biggest names in the content creation game, with over a million subscribers on YouTube and Twitch to her BotezLive channel that features herself and her sister Andrea. The 27-year-old’s YouTube videos have received over 245 million total views.
Botez is best known as a chess player, but the American-Canadian has recently been playing quite a lot of poker. Botez was famously one of the big winners in a high-stakes live-streamed cash game held on Hustler Casino Live in 2022 that included the likes of Jimmy ‘Mr. Beast’ Donaldson and Phil Hellmuth. Botez also recently played in the World Poker Tour World Championship and the PokerStars Players Championship tournaments.
Botez failed to cash in either of those two huge tournaments, but did manage her first live in-the-money finish not long after hitting the rail on day 2 of the PSPC. Botez placed 42nd from a field of 366 in the $3,300 buy-in no-limit hold’em deep stack event for $5,200.
Cashed for the first time in a serious poker tournament!! Won $5200, nothing crazy but feeling pumped considering I was a fish in a pool of pros. Ty @PokerStars for putting this together pic.twitter.com/yYlK2Yf7ZG

Botez backed up that achievement by winning her first-ever tournament title. She outlasted a field of 79 entries in a $550 buy-in no-limit hold’em hyper turbo freezeout, earning $10,815 and a spade trophy as the champion.
“I won my first poker tournament! It was a small one, $550 buy-in and I cashed $10,815, but definitely a milestone,” she said in a social media post celebrating the victory.
Botez was the last player standing in the fast-paced affair. She earned 84 Card Player Player of the Year points for the victory, which was her first POY-qualified score ever.
Here is a look at the payouts and POY points awarded at the final table:
