While many of his high-stakes peers are in London battling it out for millions, Daniel Negreanu found himself playing for significantly smaller stakes on Sunday night.

The 49-year-old Poker Hall of Famer was out walking his dogs when a teenager approached him with a special request.

“My friends are coming over in an hour, playing our last poker game before going off to college. I know it’s a lot to ask, but will you stop by and say hello to them?”

Negreanu polled his Twitter followers, and after more than 35,000 responses that overwhelmingly told him to go, he went. In fact, not only did he stop by, but he brought free GGPoker merchandise and also sat down in the game, which was 25¢-50¢ no-limit.

Although the home game was played out on a simple dining room table, the college-bound teens classed up the environment in shirts and ties, commemorating the final poker gathering of their youth.

Negreanu had a rough summer at the WSOP, but he did book a win in this game before giving it all back to the students. We’re guessing that they’ll enjoy the memory more than the cash.
