The Borgata Winter Poker Open continues with strong turnouts and swollen prize pools. Event No. 7 was the first non-no-limit hold’em tournament and still attracted 323 players. The $300 buy-in limit hold’em event had a prize pool of $96,000. John Dashtara won just over $28,000 for first.
The modified shootout event, even No. 8, gave single-table specialists a chance to shine, and 550 players put up the $300 buy-in for the challenge. Jose Severino was awarded just over $47,000 of the $165,000 prize pool for his first-place finish.
The last event to finish was event No. 9, a $500 buy-in no-limit hold’em event. A prize pool of $236,500 was generated from 473 entrants. The last person standing was David Zeitlin. He won nearly $68,000 for first. Zeithlin also cashed in event No. 2, a $500 buy-in no-limit hold'em tournament.
