The World Series of Poker is now in the books with Jonathan Tamayo claiming poker’s biggest title, but more bracelet chasing is on the horizon. Series officials announced the return of the WSOP Paradise with the action set for Dec. 6-19 at Atlantis Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas.

Through a partnership with GGPoker, the series will feature the largest guarantee in live poker tournament history. The “reimagined” festival will feature the most comprehensive set of high roller and super high roller tournaments ever offered, according to series officials.

A full schedule will be released at a later date, with buy-ins ranging from $2,500 to $1 million.

“The action we saw during the WSOP summer series is a testament to the health of poker, particularly for high-roller tournaments,” WSOP Senior Vice President and Executive Director Ty Stewart said. “Last year was no one-time gimmick. We’re thrilled GGPoker has reaffirmed their commitment to building WSOP Paradise through the biggest guarantee in poker history.”

Details On The Series

The $25,000 buy-in no limit hold’em championship, known as the Super Main Event, highlights the series with a $50 million guarantee. Online qualifiers and tournament promotions will begin immediately on GGPoker for players in the international online poker market.

“This is one you can’t miss,” GGPoker ambassador and seven-time bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu said. “There were a lot of learnings from year one and everything is going to be bigger and better. A $50 million guarantee in the Bahamas! Are these guys crazy?”

There is no word yet if online players in the American market will be able to qualify via WSOP.com.

Last year’s series saw German online qualifier Stanislav Zegal top a field of 3,010 entries in the $5,000 buy-in main event to win $2 million.

The event used online qualifiers to help meet the guarantee back then, which was an already-ambitious $15 million and went head-to-head with the WPT World Championship in Las Vegas, which had its own $40 million guarantee. The two series will once again battle for players this December.
