The Venetian Resort Las Vegas opened their new poker room this week, unveiling a new space on the second floor of the Grand Canal Shoppes at Palazzo.

Boasting 14,000 sq. ft. with room for 50 tables, the poker room is the largest on the Las Vegas Strip, and the new location now offers much more convenient access to numerous dining options and the parking garage.

“We’re thrilled to announce the grand opening of our brand-new poker room at the Venetian Resort,” the casino posted on Twitter. “When will we see you at the tables?”

The official opening was attended by a number of notables, including poker pros Matt Berkey, Maria Konnikova, Jeremy Ausmus, Scott Blumstein, and Jamie Kerstetter, as well as poker podcaster Joey Ingram, actress Farah Galfond, magician Shin Lim, and rapper Nelly, who has played in many poker events over the years.

After a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Venetian Director of Poker Operations Tommy LaRosa, it was time for the ceremonial first hand. The $1-$3 game saw eight of the nine players go all in preflop, with Blumstein and Ingram chopping the $2,400 pot with a queen-high straight.

To promote the kickoff, Venetian announced that players would receive $3 per hour comps for any cash game play from now until Dec. 31.

The new room offers players complimentary self-serve coffee and soda, USB and USB-C charging ports at every seat, tableside restaurant ordering, and free parking for anyone who plays more than three hours. There are numerous TVs throughout the venue, a sports betting kiosk, and a dedicated restroom.

Players who attended the opening reported that they were happy with the quieter atmosphere, no longer having to deal with loud slot machines ringing nearby. Others commented on the better air quality, as smoking is prohibited in the Grand Canal Shoppes.

Later this year, the Venetian will begin operating a live streaming room dedicated to filming vlogging sessions, big cash games, and tournament final tables. The property will also continue to host their player-favorite Deepstack series, and serve as a stop on several tours.
