More than $148.7 million in prize money was paid out across the 18 events that made up the 2025 Triton Poker Jeju high-stakes tournament festival. The final event wrapped up during the wee hours of Sunday, Mar. 16, with Kiat Lee defeating a field of 31 entries in the $25,000 short deck turbo event.
The Malaysian player earned $264,000 in the last-chance affair, along with his first trident trophy. Lee now has more than $13.8 million in career cashes, with more than $11.5 million of that coming from his 33 cashes in Triton events.
“It means a lot to me,” Lee told Triton reporters after coming out on top. “I always wanted to win a title.”
This one-day affair had $775,000 in total prize money to award, with the top six finishers all earning a slice. Ten-time Triton champion Jason Koon was knocked out on the bubble with pocket tens against the A-K of Lee, who flopped an ace and held from there.
Five-time Triton champion and 11-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Phil Ivey was the first to hit the rail inside the money, with his K-J losing to A-K suited for two-time Super High Roller Bowl champion Isaac Haxton. Ivey earned $54,000 as the sixth-place finisher, surpassing $48.4 million in career earnings in the process.
Lun Loon soon followed (5th – $70,000) when his A-K ran into the pocket kings of Lee. Four-handed action then continued for a while before Rene Van Krevelen’s pocket eights lost a preflop showdown against the KQ
of Michael Zhang, who made kings full by the river to secure the knockout. Van Krevelen earned $89,000 as the fourth-place finisher.
Haxton’s run came to an end in third place when his KQ
was run down by the Q

of Lee. The chips went in preflop and the 8

Heads-up play began with Zhang holding 5,500,000 to Lee’s 3,800,000. Lee surged into the lead thanks to a big win with quads against the sevens full of tens of Zhang. Not long after that, Zhang got the last of his chips in with QJ
