Tournament poker players don't have long to cool their spurs before returning to the poker trail again. In only 10 days, they'll start the new year by heading to the Caribbean to play some major poker.
The year starts with the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA), which, for the first time, is a European Poker Tour event. The former World Poker Tour event switched sides because PokerStars is the chief sponsor of the EPT.
This is the sixth event out of the 11 scheduled for the fourth season of the EPT. It takes place at the Atlantis Resort and Casino in the Bahamas. The buy-in is $8,000.
There are five events (including the PCA) before the EPT holds its Grand Final at Monte Carlo Bay Hotel and Resort in Monte Carlo. This $15,000 event (using today's exchange rates) is becoming one of the player's favorite stops on the trail. American Gavin Griffin won last year.
The rest of the EPT season four schedule follows:

Back in the states the WPT is in the middle of its sixth season. There are seven events between now and the $25,000 WPT World Championship that takes place at the Bellagio April 19-26.
The WPT already filmed 12 events, including two specials (a third one is schedule for March), and its sixth season will be the first to be aired on Monday nights on GSN. It will be shown after High Stakes Poker, but dates when the new season starts airing have not been announced.
In season five, 18 events were filmed for broadcast. The 21 events of season six is the most ever by the WPT. The following are the remaining events that take place the first part of 2008 (the dates of the main event are listed):
And then, starting May 30, the World Series of Poker takes place at the Rio. With 55 events, it's truly an entire season unto itself. Click here to view the schedule of events.
