Paul Darden Wins Event as L.A. Poker Classic Continues

Prominent Poker Pro Takes Down Omaha Eight-or-Better Tournament

Paul DardenWith two more preliminary events coming to an end, the L.A. Poker Classic at the Commerce Casino creeps closer to its $10,000 buy-in World Poker Tour championship event, which begins Feb. 23

Professional Paul Darden won event No. 12, a $1,000 buy-in Omaha eight-or-better tournament. He defeated a 134-player field to win almost $42,000 of the $130,000 prize pool.

Ut Nguyen Event No. 13, a $500 buy-in sixhanded turbo no-limit hold’em  tournament, attracted 251 players, making the prize pool almost $122,000. Ut Nguyen of Bell Gardens, California, won just under $39,000.
