PokerStars Sunday Million
The regularly scheduled major online Sunday tournaments were back this week after PokerStars and Full Tilt’s big ones were put on hiatus to make way for huge World Series of Poker main event satellites. The PokerStars Sunday Million had 6,382 entrants last night, which was significantly down from two weeks ago. Last night was the first time since Feb. 3 this year that the prize pool has been below $1.3 million. Still, a $1,276,400 prize pool is plenty, and it was still the biggest pot online this Sunday. The first-place finisher could earn almost $159,000 if he didn’t make a deal at the final table.
When it got down to three-handed play, the final three couldn’t help but cut a deal. Bolikk was the chip leader at the time, and he secured himself $112,000, while jlost88 was the mid-stack with a guaranteed $105,000, and tEh_R3aLde4L brought up the rear for a guaranteed $92,000. Per the PokerStars policy, $30,000 was left on the table for the eventual winner, which meant that any of the three could leave the table as the leading money winner, despite the chop.
After the deal, jlost88 was the first to hit the rail. It came down to heads up between Bolikk and previous short stack and now commanding chip leader tEh_R3aLde4L. When the final pot was being scooped, it was tEh_R3aLde4L scooping it, earning the extra $30,000 in a come-from-behind victory to put his total winnings at nearly $122,000.
The final results were:

Full Tilt $750,000 Guarantee
The Full Tilt $750,000-guaranteed event had 3,455 entrants last night, fewer runner’s than last week’s 3,500 and the eighth straight $750K event to require an overlay. That didn’t do anything to diminish the event, however, as the winner last night was going to see $132,572 extra in his bank account.
And that six-figure payday came down to a battle between IzabelG and Nairb09. There was more than $52,000 on the line in the heads-up match as the difference between the first- and second-place paydays. IzabelG ultimately won the final hand of the tournament, taking the title and the huge first-place prize (the biggest payout this Sunday).
The final results were:
UltimateBet $200,000 Guarantee
There were 861 runners in last night’s UltimateBet $200,000-guaranteed event. That attendance number meant that UltimateBet came out of pocket for $27,800 to match the guarantee.
The three finalists in the tournament last night were 2007 Online Player of the Year runner-up Matt “NoBadBeatsPlz” Kay (aka ch0ppy), Alex “AJKHoosier1” Kamberis, and GoGators86. AJKHoosier1 was the first of the three to leave the table, earning $18,500 for third place. GoGators86 then went head to head versus NoBadBeatsPlz, and he ultimately came out victorious, snagging the $45,000 top prize. NoBadBeatsPlz got $27,000 for being the final player eliminated from the event.
The final results were:
Bodog $100,000 Guarantee
The 711 entrants in last night’s Bodog $100,000-guaranteed event may have required a $28,900 overlay, but that attendance number was well above last week’s 621 and was the most entrants the event has had since May 4.
NATCH and gfunkera were the final two combatants vying for the $23,600 first-place prize. NATCH snatched the final pot to eliminate his opponent and take down the event. gfunkera earned a still respectable $13,600 for his excellent finish.
