Frenchman Alain Roy Wins Partouche Poker Tour

Collects $1.4 Million for Home-Soil Victory

The $8,500 buy-in Partouche Poker Tour in Cannes was won at the weekend by Frenchman Alain Roy, who collected Second place finisher Claudio Rinaldi$1,426,465 for his victory over 479 opponents. Roy defeated Claudio Rinaldi (pictured at right), from Switzerland, after just three hands of heads-up play to take the lion’s share of the $3.2 million prize pool at the three-day event.

The final table payouts were:

  3. Antonin Tesseire — $477,926
  4. Stephane Bazin — $321,709
  5. Philippe Narboni — $223,270
  6. Jean Philipe Rohr — $175,477
  7. Michel Abecassis — $111,278

The field attracted a broad swath of international poker stars, including Gus Hansen, who came ninth, Michael Mizrachi (14th), and Scotty Nguyen (44th). The event paid out a minimum of $15,963 to the top 48 players.
