The Red Rock Harley Davidson is unveiling its brand-new store in Las Vegas with a three-day party Nov. 7-9 that includes a Celebrity Poker Tournament hosted by Hoyt Corkins to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
The tournament begins on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. The buy-in for the event is $500, but players can get in for cheaper by playing a $60 eight-man single-table satellite on Friday, Nov. 7. The first-place finisher in the event will receive a 2008 105th-Anniversary Edition Harley-Davidson motorcycle, a Curtis & Co. watch, a trophy designed by Legacy Alliance, Inc., and Harley-Davidson merchandise. Poker pros expected to attend include Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth, Tiffany Michelle, Cyndy Violette, Todd Brunson, Pamela Brunson, Brad Booth, Chip & Karina Jett, Mark Newhouse, Brandon Cantu, Jeff Madsen, Lee Watkinson, James Van Alstyne, and 2008 World Series of Poker final tablists David Rheem and Dennis Phillips.
The event is open to the public, and in addition to the tournament, the festivities will include food, drinks, music, Hawaiian Tropic girls, as well as free poker seminars by the World Poker Tour Boot Camp at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 7. On the day of the tournament, a live auction and prize raffle will also take place, with all benefits going to the JDRF, the largest charitable funder and advocate of type 1 research, having donated more than $1.3 billion for research in hopes of finding a cure for the disease and the complications that come along with it.
Players can pre-register for the event online, or make a direct donation at the JDRF website.
