Fox Sports Net will air the season premiere of the second season of the Best Damn Poker Show tonight at 9 p.m.
The show, which is sponsored by UltimateBet.net, features 24 poker-playing hopefuls as they compete to be the last man (or woman) standing. The competitors are taught by “The Poker Brat,” Phil Hellmuth, and one of the most recognizable female players in the game, Annie Duke.
“Hollywood” Dave Stann was the overall winner in season one.
In season two, contestants range from a 22-year-old student to a 58-year-old artist. Some players submitted a video to the show, making a case as to why they should be selected, while others were chosen from the crowd at the 2008 WSOP to audition and then compete.
There will be seven episodes in all, with each show debuting at 9 p.m. on Monday, and running again at 11 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.
Duke has been seen on TV quite a bit already and is poised to be seen much more this year. A regular on Poker After Dark, the Tournament of Champions winner has been selected to compete on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice this year.
