Howard LedererJust three miles west of Downtown Las Vegas is the Las Vegas Springs Reserve. At about 180 acres, the land that once served as this area’s original water source now features botanical gardens, museum galleries, and multiple walking trails and nature walks. On Wednesday, poker players are invited to play in a tournament to benefit the Springs Reserve.

Howard Lederer and his wife Suzie will host their inaugural April Fools fundraiser poker tournament on April 1 at 3 p.m. at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Proceeds from the $230 event will go toward the Spring Reserve, and a number of poker pros have already indicated that they would attend the tournament, including Jerry Yang, Jamie Gold, Jennifer Harman, Scotty Nguyen, Jeff Madsen, and Lee Watkinson.

A seat to the 2009 World Series of Poker main event will be up for grabs for the winner of this tournament, but the top 10 finishers will receive prizes for their performances, as well. There will also be bounties placed on several competitors.
