Students Look Forward to Oxford Cup VIIIPoker-Loving Students Sign Up for Celeb-Ridden Event |

The Oxford Cup, presented by DragonStack, and in association with Joe Barnard and Loose Cannon Club, will return for its eighth year. The official student £20 rebuy event will take place at the Oxford Union across the weekend of Jun. 6.
Many famous faces have attended in the past and this time it is Anthony Holden’s turn to speak. He takes centre stage on Sat., Jun. 6 to discuss his Poker Federation and express his wish for poker to become an Olympic sport. There will also be cash games and sit ‘n’ go tournaments taking place throughout the day.
The following day, Sun., Jun. 7, is when things get serious (or as serious as they can with students), as the main event begins that afternoon. There is a guaranteed prize pool of £8,000 and UniversityPoker is giving £1,000 to the top placing student. It is also putting £1,000 behind the bar.
Those who make it to the final table will get the chance to play the last leg in the presidents room of the Oxford Union. Some familiar faces expected on the day are Roy Houghton, Al Alvarez, Rumit Somaiya, and Catman.
The £20 tickets for the main event can be purchased (and more information can be found) in various ways:
Ahead of the Cup, Dave “Devilfish” Ulliott impressed many of the players who will most likely be taking part in this event, as he recently imparted his poker experience and knowledge, and discussed his past antics, with students at the Oxford Union.
