The Poker Industry Expo, which brings together politicians, online poker room owners, and others in the industry, will take place the first weekend of December at the Barcelo San Jose Palacio in Costa Rica.

The two-day conference and exposition will have presentations and seminars that focus on poker room management, new poker-related technologies, marketing for poker, payment issues and customer service.

Exhibitors, including 888.com, the Doyle Brunson Poker Network, and Gateway Financial Services, will show off their services to attendees.

Speakers include James Kasper, the state representative from North Dakota who has led effort to legalize online poker in his state. Professor Joseph Kelly of Buffalo State University will speak on legal issues in the United States and David Wang, of the World Poker Tour, will talk about media integration.

Registration is $750 ($850 after Nov. 24) for the conference and the expo only, and $1,500 for the conference, expo, and poker tournament that's scheduled to take place among the poker executives.

The next expo will take place in Amsterdam in April.
