PartyPoker.com recently announced its sponsorship deal with Ian Frazer as it kicked off its journey to creating its own team. Joining other sites in creating ambassadors and teams of pros, PartyPoker.com initially stuck with Mike Sexton, but is now branching out.
The site is focusing on VIPs, player loyalty, and history with the site, and Ian Frazer fit the bill. The Brit has more than $1.3 million to his name including a UK Open title, a European Open title, many online final tables, and three World Series of Poker cashes. He recently won a package online for the Asian Poker Tour Macau, and is currently in Las Vegas for the Series.
The site quickly continued its hunt by today announcing the addition of Felipe “Mojave” Ramos and Remy Biechel.
A spokesperson for Party Poker said, “We’re delighted to welcome Felipe and Remy to the team. Like Ian Frazer, they both have history as loyal customers and have increased their play since the re-launch of the new software and VIP programmes. Our extensive international television distribution gives players the chance of brilliant exposure.”
Ramos is a 26-year-old Brazilian who is well-known on the Latin American poker circuit, and becoming increasingly so elsewhere. Last week, he came sixth in the $5,000 pot-limit Omaha WSOP event for $67,663.
Forty-year-old Biechel is a highly-respected and exceedingly popular French player, who is also a member of Party Poker’s Palladium Lounge. He is currently busy in Las Vegas attempting to add to his $850,000 in lifetime winnings. His most recent result came when he won the €5,000 side event at the prestigious European Poker Tour Grand Final in Monte Carlo.
Frazer, who will be hosting his own private tournaments at the site, said, “I have been involved with Party since the early Poker Den days so it is a deal that makes sense and is based on a strong relationship over a number of years. I left Party for a while as I felt the software got dated and the VIP service dropped from the original top level but since the October re-launch, the software is second to none and I’ve seen a massive amount of extra value given back through the new VIP system which puts Party back at the top.”
