California Grand Casino
The California Grand Casino first opened its doors in 1854 in Pacheco, California. In the past century and a half, the casino has welcomed its local customers with open arms, providing a wide array of table games and great promotions. Now, the casino is poised to begin a new era in its illustrious history.
The California Grand Casino has moved into a brand-new facility, just across the street from its former location. The new building features a sleek look, with an expansive gaming area with additional seating, a full bar, a meeting and banquet room, and a new restaurant.
“We want to provide the best possible experience for our players. This beautiful new facility gives our customers a lot more room to play and relax,” said Lamar “Wil” Wilkinson, the owner of the casino for the past 30 years. “We’ve always been known as a fun, neighborhood place where friends come to play. This new facility is a positive addition to the local community and one of the nicest gaming establishments in California.”
The new casino’s poker room will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The property is featuring several promotions in its first few months, including high-hand bonuses, multiple “cash bonanzas,” and even $2 breakfast and lunch specials.
Ocean’s Eleven Casino
The dog days of summer are back.
On Sunday, Aug. 9, Ocean’s Eleven Casino will host its Dog Days of Summer no-limit hold’em poker tournament. The event costs $225 to enter, and will feature a guaranteed prize pool of $20,000.
Satellites for the tournament are scheduled for the previous day for as little as $60.
The casino’s Oceanside Open poker series, which took place in early July, was a massive success. Over three consecutive days on July 3-5, the casino’s featured tournament garnered prize pools of $37,731, $26,001, and $35,581, respectively. The big winners of the events were Sam Korn (for $10,911), Kooshiar Asimian (for $4,500), and John Coleman (for $10,675).
Sycuan Resort and Casino
Just 30 minutes from downtown San Diego, the Sycuan Resort and Casino has always provided gaming opportunities to the residents of South California. Now, the owners of the chic casino are offering a lot more.
The Sucuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation and the Sycuan Tribal Development Corporation celebrated the ribbon-cutting of its newest facility, the Marina Gateway, on July 16. The new facility, which will operate as a Best Western hotel, will host 173 rooms and is expected to have an annual impact of $700,000 to the San Diego area in hotel and sales taxes.
“We’re very pleased with the end result and we’re happy it will have a lasting impression in National City and the entire South Bay region of San Diego,” said Daniel J. Tucker, chairman of the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation.
The project created 1,000 jobs during construction.
Florida
Seminole Hard Rock, Tampa
The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino always has poker action going on, but this month, the location will feature a host of promotions that are sure to attract people into the building.
Hard Rock will be giving away more than $1 million between Aug. 16 and Sept. 28 on Sundays and Mondays. Every other hour, two patrons will be selected for a $10,000 cash drawing. Drawings will be held from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on all of those days, every two hours.
But cold hard cash isn’t all the casino is giving away. On every Tuesday in August, winners of a $1,000 cash drawing will qualify for a grand prize of a BMW Advanced Diesel Car.
And if you want to step away from the poker table for a while and try some slots, watch out for the Rockin’ Summer Buy-in Slot Tournament on Aug. 7-8.
