The European Masters of Poker will pull into Vittoriosa in Malta for its fifth and final leg on Sept. 23, where it will stay for four days. Up to 500 players will sit down to a starting stack of 15,000 in chips rather than the usual 10,000 for the €1,500 + €150 buy-in finale.

Qualifications for the grand final are now running for as little as €2 or 200 VIP points across the Entraction network. The tour’s premium partners include i4poker, Pokerihuone, Pinnacle Sports, KickOffPoker, DailyPoker, GoldWin Poker, and 24hPoker.

The final three qualification satellites take place on Wednesday at 7.40 p.m. (CET), the €100 buy-in will give away two packages to the final worth €2,500, and Thursday and Sunday at the same time, both have a €200 buy-in and guarantee four packages each.

All packages include the €1,500 + €150 buy-in, plus €850 in expenses.

There are daily satellites to all the main qualifiers, or alternatively, players can buy-in directly through their Entraction account for €1,650.

Barcelona, the penultimate stop was the biggest of the tour so far with 399 players and a first place prize of €55,502. Anton Wigg topped the field, taking home the title and top prize.

The leader board competition running alongside the events makes it all that bit more exciting with five percent taken from every tournaments’ prize pool, and split between the top 15 players after all five tournaments are completed. First place is estimated to be €25,000, plus a watch worth €10,000 if he/she has earned 25,000 VIP points between Jan. 1, 2009 and the start of the final event.
