WCOOP Event Results 1-5 Below

WCOOP logoThe first five events of the 2009 PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) are now in the books. To say that the start of this series has been a success in an understatement. Of the five events that concluded, four have shattered their guarantees.

Last year, Daniel “djk123” Kelly finished sixth in the Card Player Online Player of the Year race. During that stretch, Kelly was able to take down a FTOPS title, but the coveted WCOOP bracelet still eluded him. Now, with a win in event no. 2, Kelly joins a very small group of online players who have won both.

Kelly’s win over Matt “plattsburgh” Vengrin came in razz and earned him $53,410. Despite starting the 2009 year off slow, Kelly is now within striking distance of the OPOY top ten, sitting in 19th place overall.

With his second place finish in event no. 4, Jeremiah “Believer82” Vinsant, has moved into seventh place overall in the rankings.
