WPT -- Borgata Poker Open Day 3Fast Play on Day 3 Shrinks the Field down to 27 Players |
|
Day 3 at the World Poker Tour $3,500 no-limit hold’em championship at the Borgata Poker Open once again saw a huge chunk of the remaining field hit the rail. Yesterday, over 500 players made their exit to take the field down to 169, and today play charged right through the money bubble when 100 players remained and kept up a quick pace down to the final 27 players. Some big names that fell just short of the money included Michael Binger, Jonathan Little, Lee Childs, Joe Simmons, and Bill Gazes. One big name that remains in the hunt at the top of the pack is Ray Henson (pictured right). He ended the night in third chip position with 1,915,000. Yanick Brodeur ended the night with just over 3 million to pace the field. Read on below for day 3 highlights and results.
Hand of the Day:
Kathy Liebert Eliminated in 29th Place ($10,750)
With the blinds at 10,000-20,000 with a 2,000 ante four players saw a flop of 3 3 2. Liebert moved all in and Mike Summers reraised all in. The two other opponents mucked and the final two players flipped up their cards:
Liebert: 9 2
Summers: 4 3
Turn and River: 10 6
Summers won the hand to grow his stack to 1,055,000 while Liebert was eliminated in 29th place, just two spots shy of advancing to day 4.
