Paradise Poker Rake Down Eight Percent in 2009Sportingbet’s Poker Site Feels the Ill-Winds of a “Difficult Market” |

Sportingbet Plc, the publicly-quoted parent of Paradise Poker, today issued its full year results to July 31, 2009.
As a percentage of Sportingbet’s overall business, poker dropped from 15 percent in 2008 to 12 percent in 2009.
The poker market remains difficult and investment in the business was “maintenance only” the company said in its statement.
Rake fell 8 percent to £22 million from £23.8 million in 2008 while average daily rake fell 7.5 percent to £60,115 in 2009 from £65,018 in 2008.
Overall Sportingbet, which also operates sportsbook, casino, and games, enjoyed a leap in operating profits, up 26 percent to £31.1 million.
