Devilfish Gaming Hits the Acquisition Trail

Devilfish Gaming Plc, the publicly-quoted online gaming operator which is parent to DevilfishPoker.com, today announced it was in the market for acquiring other online gaming companies in the sector.

Consolidation in the online gaming sector is picking up as indicated by the takeover of Purple Lounge yesterday by Media Corporation.

Paul Barnes, chief executive officer of Devilfish Gaming believes the company has a “strong and unique poker brand, with a charismatic and entertaining site ambassador.” He also said, “We are actively seeking media and gaming partners worldwide who, in partnership with us, would gain access to the Devilfish brand, and move with us into new legal markets.”

David Boden, executive chairman of the company indicated the sector was on the cusp of change saying, “Media companies in the USA and other jurisdictions are positioning to enter the online poker business in advance of key markets opening and regulating. In addition, we believe that sales of both online and terrestrial poker related gaming products would benefit greatly from having the backing of a strong brand like Devilfish”
